There are certain words that are widely found in spam emails. Spam filters or blockers are pre-trained to detect such words and subsequently block and emails which contain them. Some of the most commonly found words in most spam emails include:
- guaranteed
- free
- no risk
- insurance
- make money online
- stocks
- pornographic words such as sex, body parts, enhancement
- Different sales words such as buy, click here, download here, etc.
At times, there are legitimate emails that contain such words and phrases. These emails are blocked by most spam filters unintentionally. To avoid this, filters should be configured by users to allow for specific emails containing such words and phrases. The names of the sources can be added to the mailing list of the recipient which will stop the emails from being flagged as spam.
